Matt's TV Comeback: Is It Happening?

While Savannah, Hoda, Al, and Craig appear to be handling the absence of Matt just fine, the former Today show anchor is reportedly plotting his big TV comeback. According to a recent In Touch Weekly report, Matt is eyeing an investigative talk show gig and he's hoping HBO might give him a shot. His longtime pal Bryant Gumbel is apparently doing everything he can to help Matt out. But let's be real, it's not going to be easy. "But he’s the first to admit that his pal has an uphill battle ahead of him," the source added. Matt knows he has to prove himself again. He's practically begging for a second chance, and you can't blame him for trying.

Savannah's Take: Moving On?

One person who seems to be steering clear of helping Matt with his TV comeback is Savannah Guthrie. She recently admitted that she hasn't seen her former co-anchor even once since his firing last November. In an interview earlier this fall with People, Savannah opened up about her current relationship with Matt. "I always try to keep in touch on text. He’s really focused on his kids and his family. All of it has been an adjustment. Everybody knows how sad and sorry and shocked I was about everything that happened, and now I hope everyone knows how grateful I am to Hoda Kotb as a partner now," she shared. It sounds like Savannah is focusing on the present and the future, and who can blame her?
