Let’s be real—many of us think about waiting until after the holidays to start our fitness routines, right? But Eva Longoria isn’t one of those people. The superstar mom has revealed that she’s ready to dive back into working out, just about six months after welcoming her precious son, Santiago, into the world this past June. Surprisingly, it wasn’t the internet trolls who inspired her to focus on her post-baby body—it was Eva herself!
“I really gave my body the time it needed to adjust after going through pregnancy and childbirth,” Eva shared with Us Weekly on December 1. “You know, my body created a whole human being! So I wasn’t too hard on myself when it came to getting back into shape.” Eva’s approach shows a level of self-care and patience that we can all learn from. After all, growing and delivering a baby is no small feat.

Eva’s New Fitness Routine: More Than Just a Hobby
After taking some time to adjust to her new role as a mom, the 43-year-old actress and her husband, José “Pepe” Bastón, are focusing on personal goals again. For Eva, this means reigniting her passion for fitness. “Now, I’m working out a lot more and paying closer attention to what I eat,” the former Desperate Housewives star revealed. “I’m just starting to get back into it, but it feels great.”
But here’s the kicker—Eva isn’t messing around with light workouts. “My routine now involves serious weight training,” she explained. “I’m all about pushing myself and getting stronger.” While Eva’s goal is to lose weight and tone up, she hasn’t forgotten the mental benefits of simpler exercises. “Yoga is still my go-to for relaxation,” she admitted. Clearly, Eva’s approach to fitness is both balanced and purposeful.
A Lifelong Love for Health and Wellness
Even before becoming a mom, Eva was known for her dedication to staying fit and eating healthy. Back in 2015, she told Us Weekly about her daily routine: “I’m a runner, I practice yoga, and I do Pilates—it’s like a rotation of these activities.” Eva added, “And I usually eat well. Diet and exercise have always been a big part of my life.” This commitment to wellness has clearly carried over into her post-baby journey.

We have to hand it to Eva for kicking off her fitness journey during the holiday season. “We’ll be in Mexico with our families for the holidays,” she gushed about her plans with her 50-year-old husband and adorable son. “We have a Christmas Eve gift exchange where we draw names and exchange presents—it’s such a fun tradition.”

Eva also shared that Christmas is “a truly magical time” in her household, and we can only imagine how much more special it will be with her little bundle of joy. She even admitted that she doesn’t have anything on her list for Santa because she’s already been blessed this year. “The best gift I could ask for is Santi,” she said sweetly. How heartwarming is that?
