Gwyneth Paltrow's Thoughtful Approach To Blended Family Life

Gwyneth Paltrow reveals she's still not living with new husband Brad

Hey there, friends. Let's talk about something really relatable—blending families after marriage. Unlike most newlyweds who jump right into living together, Gwyneth Paltrow and her husband, Brad Falchuk, are taking a different route. In a candid interview for the December 2018 issue of The Wall Street Journal, Gwyneth opened up about why she and Brad are moving at their own pace. And it’s not just about them—it’s about the kids too.

Gwyneth, now 46, shared that she hasn’t moved in with Brad yet because they’re being mindful of their four children. Brad has two kids from a previous marriage, Brody and Isabella Falchuk, and Gwyneth wants to ensure that she respects their space as teenagers. "With teenage kids, you’ve got to tread lightly," she explained. "It’s a pretty intense phase for them, and we want to make sure we’re doing this the right way—for everyone involved."

Gwyneth is navigating the waters of being a stepmom for the first time, and she’s doing it with grace. She’s already a proud mother to two kids, Apple, 14, and Moses, 12, whom she shares with her ex-husband, Chris Martin. “I’ve never been a stepmother before. I don’t know how to do it,” she admitted candidly. But that’s okay—because they’re taking it one step at a time.

Slow and Steady Wins the Race

Since tying the knot in September in the picturesque Hamptons, Gwyneth and Brad have been building their life together at their own pace. “We are still doing it in our own way,” Gwyneth revealed. “And that’s how we like it!” Even though she doesn’t live with Brad full-time yet, Gwyneth still maintains a close relationship with Chris. In fact, she even keeps a room in her home for him when he’s traveling. Talk about teamwork!
