Let’s talk about Prince Charles, the man who might be turning 70, but still has the heart of a kid. Sure, he's the heir to the throne, and yes, he's got a lot on his plate, but when it comes to his grandchildren, all bets are off. This guy is all about making those little ones laugh, even if it means crawling around on the floor and making funny noises. And according to his wife, Camilla Parker Bowles, it’s not just a one-time thing. In a recent BBC documentary called Prince, Son and Heir: Charles at 70, Camilla revealed just how much her husband loves being a grandpa.
“My grandchildren adore him,” Camilla said in the documentary. She went on to describe how Charles isn’t afraid to get down to their level—literally. “He’ll crawl about with them for hours, making funny noises and laughing,” she explained. But let’s be real here. Keeping up with those energetic grandkids isn’t easy, especially when you’re dealing with Prince George, who’s five, and Princess Charlotte, who’s three. At a recent royal event, Charles admitted to a new mom named Amelia Kerr that her job is harder than his. “My grandchildren wear me out. I don’t know how you do it,” he told her, according to the Daily Express.

Prince Charles' Busy Schedule vs. Quality Time with the Kids
Now, while Charles might have some time before Prince Louis, who’s only seven months old, starts walking, his hands are full with George and Charlotte. But here’s the thing: his son, Prince William, thinks dad needs to slow down a little. In the same documentary, William, who’s 36, expressed his desire for Charles to spend more time at home with the kids. “I would like him to have more time with the children,” William said. “Having more time with him at home would be lovely, and being able to, you know, play around with the grandchildren. When he’s there, he’s brilliant, but we need him there as much as possible.”

Even Prince Harry Weighs In
And guess what? Prince Harry agrees with his brother. According to Harry, when they were younger, Charles would eat dinner ridiculously late at night and then go to his desk later, falling asleep on his notes because he was so consumed with work. Apparently, not much has changed over the years. So, with a fourth grandchild on the way—Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle, is expecting their first baby in spring 2019—Charles might have to figure out how to balance his busy schedule with some quality family time. Because let’s face it, being a grandpa is one of the best jobs there is.
