Exclusive: Lana Wood Reveals Robert Wagner's Alleged Role In Her Hollywood Exit

Natalie Wood's Sister Claims Robert Wagner Blacklisted Her From Hollywood

It’s a tale straight out of Hollywood’s dark side: Lana Wood, Natalie Wood’s younger sister, has come forward with shocking revelations in a world-exclusive interview. She claims that her former brother-in-law, Robert Wagner, orchestrated a blacklist against her in the aftermath of Natalie’s mysterious death. This bombshell comes from Lana herself in a candid conversation with the hit podcast Fatal Voyage: The Mysterious Death of Natalie Wood.

A Heartbreaking Phone Call

In a moment that still resonates with her today, Lana recounts an unsettling phone call she received shortly after Natalie's tragic drowning on November 28, 1981. The call came from Rowland Perkins, a founding member of Creative Artists Agency (CAA), one of Hollywood's most influential talent agencies. Perkins, who passed away at the age of 84, shared some startling information with Lana during their brief but impactful conversation.

Lana, now 72, recalls the chilling details of that call. "We chatted superficially for a couple of minutes," she told Fatal Voyage. Perkins, she says, began the conversation by expressing his fondness for her as a person. But then, he dropped a bombshell: "Stop trying to get a job in production or acting. You've been blacklisted by Robert Wagner," Lana remembers him saying.

For Lana, this revelation marked the beginning of a difficult chapter in her life. A once-promising career in Hollywood came to a grinding halt. "I couldn't get a job, and I didn't have an acting agent anymore," she explained. Lana had shifted her focus from acting to production, a field she was deeply passionate about. But the blacklist meant she was shut out of the industry she loved.

This is the first time Lana has spoken publicly about the abrupt end to her Hollywood career. Instead of pursuing her dreams in entertainment, she found herself working a variety of odd jobs. "I worked at a doll shop and collectibles in sales, opening and closing the store for them. I worked at Sprint. I did a lot of things," she shared, highlighting the resilience and determination she displayed during this challenging period.

    A Career Cut Short

Before the blacklist, Lana had carved out a respectable niche for herself in the entertainment world. Her breakout role came in 1971 when she played Plenty O’Toole, the curvaceous companion to Sean Connery’s James Bond in Diamonds Are Forever. It was a role that cemented her place in Hollywood's star-studded landscape. But after Natalie's death, Lana found herself on the outside looking in, her career derailed by forces beyond her control.

The exclusive interview with Fatal Voyage is featured in Chapter 9 of the podcast, available now on iTunes. This 12-part audio documentary is the result of years of investigative journalism, shedding new light on the circumstances surrounding Natalie Wood's death. Natalie vanished from a yacht owned by her and Robert during a leisurely cruise to Catalina Island off the coast of California. The yacht also carried actor Christopher Walken as a guest.

In 2011, authorities reopened the investigation into Natalie’s death, officially naming Robert Wagner, now 88, as a person of interest. The mystery surrounding Natalie's demise continues to captivate audiences, and Lana's revelations add another layer of intrigue to this enduring Hollywood tragedy.
