John Stamos Celebrates First Father’s Day With Heartfelt Instagram Post

Oh, my goodness! John Stamos celebrated his very first Father's Day on Sunday, June 17, by sharing a super-cute, never-before-seen photo of his baby boy, Billy's face. I mean, come on, look at that little cutie pie cuddled up with his dad! You can just feel the love radiating from this picture. It’s honestly the sweetest thing I’ve seen in a while.

In the caption of the adorable selfie, John opened up about what this milestone means to him. "My first Father’s Day means that I don’t have to hand a kid back to the parents when someone yells cut," he wrote. "It means when people ask me if I'm a father, I don't have to use the classic line, 'No, but I play one on TV.'" Can you believe it? That line has been a part of his life for so long, but now, finally, it’s all real. "My first Father’s Day means that from this day forward, I will start to look my age—and maybe even older," he added with a chuckle. But then he got serious, saying, "Most importantly, it means that for the rest of my life, I'll always be known as someone’s dad. And that’s all I ever wanted. Happy Father’s Day." Talk about heartfelt, right?!

John also gave us a little glimpse into his plans for his first Father’s Day. He admitted, "I know I’ll be crying a lot." Now, can you blame him? It’s such a big moment! He went on to say, "I’ve been writing Billy a letter that I’m putting away for him to read when he’s 18. I’ll probably keep writing it, and I’ll certainly try to honor my father." Doesn’t that just melt your heart? It’s so beautiful and emotional, you can practically feel the weight of all those years of love and memories in one little letter.

In a previous interview, John couldn’t stop gushing about the joys of being a first-time dad. "Every second you pray that you can keep the kid alive," he confessed to People magazine. "Every day is different, time has become very elusive, stuff just goes by so fast. It’s just beautiful. I’ve cried most days; I just stare at him." He continued, "I thought it was beyond me to have a kid and a great wife, but it’s given me a reason to live. Life is in session now." Whoa, right? That’s the kind of depth and emotion only a new parent can truly understand.

And if you thought the Stamos family couldn’t get any cuter, think again! John and his wife, Caitlin McHugh, are already talking about expanding their brood. In a recent interview, Caitlin revealed that they’re hoping for more kids "ASAP." She joked, "Right now, Billy is extremely spoiled and we need to share the love. He’s gotta share some of those toys and all the things that have been given to him. He needs [siblings] to keep him grounded. If he's the only one, he'll get way too much love because there hasn't been a child on either side of our family in quite some time." Sounds like Billy’s about to have some serious competition for all that attention—and we couldn’t be more excited to see this family grow!
