The Struggles of Megyn Kelly Today
Alright folks, here's the scoop. NBC is reportedly mulling over a significant change to try and save Megyn Kelly’s show from sinking further into ratings despair. As of late, Megyn Kelly Today has been struggling to hold onto its audience since it premiered back in September 2017. Now, sources suggest that the network might be ready to shuffle things around by moving the show to a different time slot. And you know what they say—sometimes a change of scenery can make all the difference!
According to insiders at Page Six, the network is considering pushing Megyn Kelly Today an hour later in the schedule. Why? Well, it seems the current timeslot hasn’t been kind to Megyn’s ratings. To fill the void left behind, NBC is rumored to be thinking about moving Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb’s segment of Today up an hour. It's like musical chairs, but with TV shows!

The Ripple Effect on Kathie Lee and Hoda
Now, let's not forget about Kathie Lee and Hoda, the dynamic duo who have been beloved fixtures on NBC for years. Unfortunately, their ratings have reportedly taken a hit since Megyn stepped into the 9 a.m. slot. According to Page Six, when Megyn replaced Tamron Hall and Al Roker’s Today’s Take, her viewership was already down by a staggering 32 percent. This meant that many viewers were simply turning off Megyn Kelly Today and not tuning back in for Kathie and Hoda's segment at 10 a.m. Ouch, right?
“This move makes perfect sense. At the very least, it limits the damage already done to Hoda and Kathie Lee. Maybe with a stronger lead-in from Today at 9 a.m., they’ll regain some of the viewers they’ve lost since Megyn went on air,” an insider shared. Given the rumors swirling around the tensions between Hoda, Savannah Guthrie, and Megyn, it seems the rating struggles are only adding to the drama.
The Feud Behind the Scenes
And folks, the drama doesn’t stop there. According to sources, the relationship between Megyn and her colleagues isn’t exactly rosy. A source told In Touch Weekly, “Savannah never makes small talk with Megyn and only addresses her professionally and matter-of-factly.” Meanwhile, Hoda is reportedly fed up with Megyn’s “arrogant” attitude and underwhelming performance. “Hoda’s star has risen while Megyn’s has fallen. She’s ready to exercise her newfound power by telling [Megyn] to get with the program. The feud has turned nasty,” the source added.
Here’s hoping better ratings for everyone involved can help mend fences and bring some harmony back to the Today show family!
