There’s nothing like sports to get the adrenaline rushing! If you’re anything like me, you know the thrill of competition and the joy of watching your kids discover their passions. Recently, Prince William opened up about how he’s introducing his two oldest children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, to the world of sports. This all happened during a casual chat with tennis superstar Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon.
During the heartwarming conversation, Djokovic, always the gentleman, asked William and his wife, Kate Middleton, “How are your children?” William beamed with pride and replied, “Very well, thanks, very well. We’re trying to get a tennis racket in their hands—and maybe even a football!” It’s clear that the Duke of Cambridge wants his kids to experience the same joy of sports that he has enjoyed throughout his life.

The conversation captured the hearts of millions when it was posted on the official Wimbledon Instagram account. So far, it’s racked up over a million views! It’s not just about sports for Prince William; it’s about nurturing a love for activity and exploration in his children. George and Charlotte are still little, so they’re still figuring out what excites them. But hey, their mom, Kate, has already hinted at some exciting possibilities.
What Sports Are George and Charlotte Into?
Kate Middleton, the proud mom of three, has been vocal about her kids’ budding interests. During an event in 2016, she mentioned that George has a thing for fencing. “I think it’s because of the face shields,” she joked to equestrian Natasha Baker. Meanwhile, Charlotte might just be following in her parents’ footsteps with a passion for horseback riding. Natasha revealed that Charlotte is already enjoying her time in the saddle. “She has this passion for horses,” Kate shared. “Even if I don’t share it as much, I’ll do my best to encourage her.”

Just last month, George and Charlotte got the chance to cheer on their dad at the Maserati Royal Charity Polo Trophy in Beaufort Park. Watching their father compete in a sport he loves could inspire them to dive into polo—or maybe they’ll stick with tennis, fencing, or horseback riding. Whatever they choose, there’s no doubt these kids have plenty of time to find their passions. Personally, I can already picture Charlotte as an expert rider and George mastering the art of fencing. The future looks bright for these little royals!
