Sandra Bullock Reveals How Her Son Louis Saved 'Ocean’s 8'

Ocean's Eight - Plugged In

Hey there, friends! You won’t believe this heartwarming story. Sandra Bullock recently shared that her movie Ocean’s 8 almost didn’t happen—thanks to the scheduling challenges tied to her son, Louis Bullock. In a candid interview with People at the film's New York City premiere on June 5, Sandra opened up about how her eight-year-old son played a pivotal role in making the movie possible.

A Last-Minute Shift in Plans

As Sandra explained, the filming schedule initially clashed with her kids’ school calendar. “This almost didn’t happen for me because it was supposed to shoot during the summer,” she said. But then, a scheduling conflict arose when co-star Cate Blanchett couldn’t make the original dates. “They said, ‘Are you willing to shift it to fall in New York?’ And I thought, ‘I gotta take the kids out of school.’”

Louis Steps Up

Sandra went on to recount how Louis came to the rescue. “Then my son said, ‘Why don’t we go look at a school and see if we find something?’” she recalled. “We left right after Mother’s Day and found a school that worked.” Sandra’s dedication to her family shines through as she added, “It’s all about my kids. If I could never work again, I’d be okay with it because I’d get to go home and be with my babies.”

    Gratitude for the Family Sacrifice

We’re incredibly grateful that Louis and his little sister, Laila Bullock, agreed to relocate from their home in New Orleans to New York City while Sandra filmed Ocean’s 8. After all, the movie turned out to be one of the most anticipated films of the year! Starring alongside Sandra and Cate Blanchett are other powerhouse actresses like Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, Rihanna, and Helena Bonham Carter. The film hit theaters on June 8, and fans couldn’t get enough of it!

    Sandra’s Priorities: Family First

Earlier this month, Sandra spoke candidly about her life and career during an interview with Hoda Kotb on Today. When asked about her top priority, Sandra didn’t hesitate: “It’s my kids. Everything revolves around them being okay, being in school, having what they need, and enjoying their moments. I want to be there for every single moment they have. Honestly, it’s harder for me to leave them than I think it is for them when I go. I don’t leave them often, and I don’t work as much anymore… So, my priorities are my kids, my kids, my kids. And, of course, my family. That’s it.”
