Prince Philip's Recent Absence from Royal Events
Let’s talk about Prince Philip, who, at 97 years old, has been dealing with some serious health concerns. Recently, he's missed quite a few royal events, including his great-grandson Prince Louis’ christening. You might remember that he almost didn’t make it to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding back in May. Now, People magazine is reporting that Philip may not attend his granddaughter Princess Eugenie’s wedding to Jack Brooksbank in October. But here’s the twist—it’s not because of his health this time.
“He does what he wants,” a source close to the family told People. “He made an extraordinary effort to be there for Harry’s big day. I’d be really surprised if he shows up for Eugenie’s wedding, given how estranged he is from Fergie. Honestly, he’ll probably decide at the last possible moment.” If you recall, Eugenie’s mom, Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson, and Philip haven’t exactly seen eye-to-eye since she separated from her former husband, Prince Andrew, back in 1996.

Philip's Remarkable Attendance at Harry's Wedding
It was nothing short of miraculous that Philip even managed to attend Harry’s wedding this spring. He had been discharged from the hospital just weeks before, after undergoing hip replacement surgery. To make matters worse, he reportedly slipped and fell while getting ready for the big day, suffering a cracked rib in the process. Despite all this, nothing was going to stop him from being there.
“There was no way he was going to let a walking aid stop him,” an insider revealed to The Sun. “You’ve got to hand it to him—he’s incredibly determined. Fractured ribs are no joke; even the smallest crack can be incredibly painful. But Philip? He’s not the type to back down, no matter what.”
