Let’s face it, Dr. Oz is a household name, and most of us know him as the guy who gives us all the health tips we didn’t even know we needed. But did you know he’s also a super grandpa? That’s right—when the cameras stop rolling, Dr. Oz trades his stethoscope for a diaper bag. He’s become the go-to babysitter for his daughter Daphne Oz’s kids, and honestly, it’s one of the sweetest things we’ve heard in a long time.

“Dad doesn’t pay well, but he’s always ready to jump in,” Daphne, 31, revealed to Closer Weekly in an exclusive interview. She went on to say, “He’s thrilled about adding one more to his brood of grandchildren.” Daphne, who is expecting her third child this December, can’t wait to see how her dad handles the newest addition to the family. Given how well he’s doing with Philo, 3, and Jovan, 1, she’s confident everything will go smoothly. “The kids are absolutely crazy about my parents. They have so much fun together,” she shared in an earlier conversation.

In a past chat with Closer, Dr. Oz admitted he can’t resist indulging his grandkids with a little sugar here and there. “Yesterday we were coming home late, and I gave them chocolates. I thought, oh well, it’s caffeine. It’ll wear off,” the 57-year-old confessed. “They’re special because they bring such youthful energy into our lives,” he added, speaking fondly of Philo and Jovan.

Learning from the Best: Daphne’s Take on Her Dad

When Daphne isn’t entrusting her kids to her dad, she’s soaking up wisdom from him. “Every time I’m with him, I feel like I’m constantly learning. That’s his life. He’s endlessly curious. He never feels like he’s done learning, so he always has really cool things to share,” she told Closer. Despite their close bond, Daphne doesn’t see herself and her dad co-hosting a talk show anytime soon. “I feel like viewers on The Chew see that I’m not really his exact replica,” she joked about the show she recently left. “I don’t know that we’ll ever have a show together.”

Still, we can’t wait for those adorable pictures of Dr. Oz with his new grandchild in just a few months. It’s clear that this family cherishes every moment together, and Dr. Oz’s role as a hands-on grandpa is just another chapter in his remarkable story.
