Let’s be real for a second—meeting Queen Elizabeth would leave most of us tossing and turning all night. Do you bow? Do you curtsy? Can you even look her in the eye? There’s so much pressure, and the rules of royal protocol are enough to make anyone’s head spin. It’s no wonder that even a little pony struggled to get it right!

Picture this: a sunny day in Scotland, the kind where everything feels just a little bit magical. On July 5, Her Majesty, accompanied by Prince Philip, made a royal visit to Stirling Castle to celebrate her 70th anniversary as Colonel-in-Chief of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. It was a grand occasion, filled with cheering crowds, tradition, and, of course, a very eager Shetland pony.

When a Pony Breaks Royal Protocol
Now, here’s where things get interesting. During the event, a Shetland pony was introduced to the Queen, and she gave it a gentle pat. But this little guy wasn’t there for formalities. Oh no, he had his eyes on something else entirely—those beautiful flowers Queen Elizabeth was holding! As the pony made a move for the bouquet, the 91-year-old monarch couldn’t help but laugh and say, “Go away!” She even tapped the pony lightly on the nose, adding under her breath, “They always eat the flowers!”

Prince Harry’s Royal Mishap
While we’re talking about breaking royal protocol, let’s not forget Prince Harry. Earlier this summer, the dashing royal found himself in the spotlight for a little etiquette slip-up of his own. During a promotional event for the 2017 Invictus Games in Sydney, Australia, a storm rolled in, leaving fans drenched as they waited to catch a glimpse of him outside the Sydney Opera House.
As Harry scanned the soaked crowd, he spotted an old friend, Daphne Dunne, and, without hesitation, ran through the rain to give her a quick kiss on the cheek. The pair first met back in 2015 when Harry was working with the Australian Defense Force. Daphne couldn’t help but gush to The Telegraph, saying, “He kissed me on the other cheek this time! He’s such a warm and genuine young man, and he truly cares about the injured servicemen and women. He’s doing an incredible job supporting them.”
