First Meeting with Santa: A Joyful Experience
Let's talk about the reactions from Joanna's fans—so many of them couldn't help but gush with "so cute!" or "Merry Christmas." But there were also some eagle-eyed fans who noticed something special: Crew seemed genuinely happy in Santa’s presence. Now, let's be honest, a baby's first meeting with Santa isn't always smooth sailing. Some kids scream, cry, or act like they're about to be set on fire (as one fan hilariously put it). But not Crew Gaines—he was all smiles, looking like he was having the time of his life.
One fan humorously commented, "Her baby WOULD smile at Santa. My kids both acted like I was trying to set them on fire as I was putting them on Santa’s lap." Another fan chimed in, "This year he’s laughing, next year he’ll be crying. I just love it!" Isn't it amazing how these little moments capture our hearts?
Joanna's Christmas Spirit: It's a Year-Round Thing
It seems like Joanna has been prepping for this magical moment since way before Halloween. The former HGTV star has been in the Christmas spirit for months now. "My sister couldn’t wait for December, and I’m not complaining!" she captioned a video showing off her younger sister Mary’s living room, complete with a cozy fire and the timeless tune of "The Christmas Song" by Nat King Cole playing in the background.
Decorating Traditions: A Family Affair
Joanna even took a trip down memory lane as she shared her "favorite" ornaments on December 12 while decorating their 13-foot tree. These weren't just any ornaments—they were handmade works of art featuring baby photos of her four older children, Drake, 13, Ella, 12, Duke, 10, and Emmie Kay, 8. Talk about heartwarming! Each ornament tells a story, and it's clear that Joanna cherishes every single one of them.

Joanna revealed their family's annual Christmas tradition in her Magnolia Journal magazine. It all starts with a visit to the Christmas tree farm, where they pick out "the most ridiculously large and fragrant" tree. From there, it's time to decorate, and the homemade ornaments play a significant role in the festivities. "The Popsicle-stick picture frames have cracked over the years, and the photos within them have faded," Joanna described. "It only makes me love them all the more."
We can't wait to see all the adorable pictures Joanna and Chip, 44, will share of their family's Christmas this year. As they celebrate their first holiday as a family of seven, we hope the Gaineses have a truly magical Christmas!
