Get Ready for Another Classic Sitcom Revival!
Hold onto your velvet blazers and psychiatrist couches because the entertainment world is buzzing with exciting news. If you thought the return of "Roseanne," "Will & Grace," and "Murphy Brown" was thrilling, get this: another beloved sitcom is reportedly making its way back to our screens. According to Deadline, "Frasier," the iconic show that stole our hearts for 11 seasons, is in the early stages of a reboot. And guess what? The man behind the bow ties, Kelsey Grammer, is reportedly on board for the comeback! Now, that’s something worth celebrating, don’t you think?
Kelsey Grammer Opens Up About the Revival
In a candid chat with Entertainment Tonight, Kelsey shared some juicy details about reprising his role as the suave and witty Dr. Frasier Crane. “We’ve been tossing around ideas,” he revealed, adding, “We’re curious about where Frasier might be now. But let’s not forget, he left for Chicago in the final episode of the original series. So, we’ve got to address that at least.” Kelsey joked that Frasier’s romantic pursuits with his girlfriend, Charlotte (played by Laura Linney), might not have gone as planned. “Some evolution has definitely taken place,” he hinted, leaving fans to wonder just how much the character has grown since we last saw him.

A Look Back at the Original Series
For those who need a refresher, Kelsey starred as Frasier Crane from 1993 to 2004 in the hit sitcom that spun off from "Cheers." The show ran for 11 glorious seasons and raked in an impressive 37 Primetime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Comedy five years in a row. Kelsey himself took home four Emmys for his stellar performance. The show followed Frasier, a sophisticated radio psychiatrist, as he moved back to his hometown of Seattle after his marriage ended in Boston. Instead of enjoying the bachelor life, he had to adjust to having his retired father, Martin, move in after being injured on the job as a police officer. However, in the series finale, Frasier made the bold decision to leave Seattle for Chicago to be with his girlfriend, Charlotte.
What’s Next for the Reboot?
According to Deadline, Kelsey is currently meeting with writers who are pitching various concepts for the potential follow-up series. “If the producers settle on a writer and a premise, the project could move beyond the exploratory stage,” the outlet reported. It seems the new series might be set in a different city, with Frasier as the connecting thread to the original Emmy-winning show. Kelsey himself seems on board with this idea. “I don’t want to play Frasier and go back to Seattle. It would be silly,” he told ET, suggesting the character’s life has taken him elsewhere.
