Let’s talk about Megyn Kelly. The powerhouse journalist is reportedly set to make her way back to prime time on NBC in early August. Now, while an official date hasn’t been announced yet, it’s expected that her one-hour evening show, Sunday Night With Megyn Kelly, will be making a comeback. This show aired for eight of its scheduled 10 episodes last summer but was pulled due to low ratings. But hey, let’s give her another chance, right?

What Happened to Megyn Kelly's Sunday Night Show?

In March, NBC dropped the news that her Sunday show would only air "periodically" going forward. They also mentioned that the prime time episodes would largely depend on Megyn’s availability with her weekday morning program, Megyn Kelly Today. If you’ve been following the ratings, you’d know that her morning show has been struggling to keep up with the competition, like ABC's Live With Kelly and Ryan. It’s not easy being in the spotlight, especially when the ratings don’t quite match the expectations.

According to Page Six, the show Megyn Kelly Today has been having a tough time attracting a steady audience. This has reportedly led NBC to consider the idea of having Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford take over her time slot. Page Six claims that Megyn’s viewership has dropped by 32 percent, causing viewers to switch channels during her show and not come back for Hoda and Kathie’s popular fourth hour segment of Today. It’s tough out there, and ratings can make or break a show.

    The Struggles Behind the Scenes

It’s not just about the numbers, though. Reports suggest that Megyn hasn’t been getting along well with her colleagues at NBC, including Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb. A source told In Touch Weekly, “Savannah never makes small talk with Megyn and only addresses her professionally.” As for Hoda, her star has been rising while Megyn’s has been falling. The source added, “She’s ready to exercise her newfound power by telling [Megyn] to get with the program. The feud has turned nasty.” It’s a tough world in the TV industry, and personal relationships can play a big role in how things play out.
