Ex-Wife Sparks Controversy
Donald Trump's ex-wife, Ivana Trump, has reignited a feud with First Lady Melania Trump by humorously referring to herself as "the real First Lady." The Czech-American businesswoman and former model was married to the President from 1977 to 1992. Together, they have three children: Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump Jr., and Eric Trump. This bold statement has stirred up quite the conversation in the world of politics and celebrity gossip.
Ivana Trump's New Book Sparks Discussion
While promoting her new book, Raising Trump—which is primarily about her experiences as a mother—Ivana has been openly discussing the First Family, especially Donald’s relationship with Melania. During an appearance on Good Morning America, she suggested that Melania might not be particularly fond of living in Washington, D.C. Ivana even admitted that she avoids calling Donald directly to prevent any potential jealousy from Melania. "I don’t really want to call him there because Melania is there," Ivana said. "And I don’t want to cause any kind of jealousy or something like that because I’m basically the first Trump wife. OK? I’m first lady."

Melania's Response to Ivana's Comments
These remarks didn't sit well with Melania. Her press secretary issued a sharp response, stating, "Mrs. Trump has made the White House a home for [her son, Barron Trump], and The President. She loves living in Washington, DC and is honored by her role as First Lady of the United States. She plans to use her title and role to help children, not sell books. There is clearly no substance to this statement from an ex. Unfortunately, it's just attention-seeking and self-serving noise." The tension between the two is palpable.
A Look Back at Their Relationship
Interestingly, Ivana and Melania once shared a friendly relationship and were even photographed together during the early stages of Melania’s romance with Donald. However, Ivana's sharp comments are often reserved for Marla Maples, the woman Donald left her for in 1992 after an affair. Ivana has referred to Marla as "no one" and a "showgirl," indicating a deep-seated rivalry that has persisted over the years.
