Let me tell you, this is one of the most delightful pieces of news I've come across about His Royal Highness Prince George in quite some time! We already knew that Kate Middleton and Prince William's little boy is the most relatable royal ever. After all, he doesn’t particularly enjoy going to school, he opens his Christmas presents early, and he's got a stink eye that could stop traffic. And now, we've learned about Prince George's all-time favorite movie — and it's a film that kids all over the world absolutely adore!
William Spills the Beans on George's Movie Preferences
Earlier this week, Prince William, who is 35 years young, revealed that George simply can't get enough of Disney's animated masterpiece, The Lion King, which is, of course, based on Shakespeare’s Hamlet. William was joined by his equally youthful wife, Kate, and his little brother, Prince Harry, at a Charities Forum event. This was the same outing where a very pregnant Duchess Kate made headlines by busting a move with Paddington Bear. At the event, William was put on the spot by a particularly enthusiastic young interviewer who wanted to know what George liked watching on TV. "He really loves The Lion King; we’ve watched it quite a few times," the royal dad shared. Isn't that just the cutest thing?

Why The Lion King Resonates with Prince George
It's truly an inspired choice for the four-year-old, who will also one day ascend to the throne. Perhaps George can relate to the story of Simba’s journey from a mischievous prince to a courageous king. Along the way, Simba learns invaluable lessons about responsibility, integrity, and the importance of facing one's fears. Or, maybe he just loves the songs — let's be honest, who doesn't? It's hard not to sing along to "Hakuna Matata" or "Circle of Life"!
George's Other Screen Favorites
In addition to The Lion King, George has quite the taste for animated entertainment. He's also a big fan of the Lego movies. "He's watched a few Lego movies as well!" William added with a smile. If that's not enough, young George is also a fan of the British children's show Octonauts, which airs on CBeebies. This delightful series follows Captain Barnacles and his crew as they embark on underwater adventures, exploring the ocean's mysteries.
William admitted that he and Kate do their best to keep George from becoming a couch potato, limiting his screen time whenever possible. "It's tough keeping him off the television," he confessed. Honestly, it's surprising that something about flying planes didn't make his top three, but maybe Netflix could commission a show about that next. If they do, we're sure Queen Elizabeth, affectionately known as Gan-Gan, will be all over it. After all, Her Majesty's favorite TV show is reportedly Netflix's hit series The Crown.
