Alyssa may have finished growing her family—she’s “going to be 45 this year and is very blessed with her two babies [Milo, 5, and Elizabella, 2]”—but her fight for breastfeeding rights is far from over. She believes that when women breastfeed in public, they’re paving the way for future generations. “Women need to realize that by breastfeeding in public, they’re making it easier for future women,” she explained. “It’s not just about comfort levels; it’s about normalizing breastfeeding so that women don’t have to rely on lactation consultants to teach them how to do something that should feel natural.”

Imagine living in a world where breastfeeding is as normal as drinking coffee or eating lunch. That’s the world Alyssa envisions. “If we were in any other country, you would have seen your neighbor breastfeed, or the woman down the street, and it’s just normal. You get accustomed to what that means, to breastfeed,” she said. Her advice to women who feel uneasy about breastfeeding in public? “It’s not really about that moment; it’s about the future moments where you’re giving someone else the strength to do it.”
Alyssa’s Latest Project: Touch by Alyssa Milano
Alyssa’s fall 2017 Touch by Alyssa Milano collection is now available via NFL Shop. As a huge sports fan, she shared her inspiration behind the line. “I just got tired of going into stadium shops and not finding anything I would wear outside of the stadium,” she confessed. “There are so many female sports fans, so I thought if I was looking for this, clearly, even if 25 percent of female sports fans were looking for something like this, then it would be a success.”
