When it comes to describing Halle Berry, the list of adjectives could go on forever. However, there’s one word that matters most to her: "mom." At 51 years old, the iconic actress paused her busy schedule promoting her latest thriller, Kidnap, which she produced under her production company 606 Films, to share her heart with Closer Weekly. During this exclusive chat in NYC, Halle opened up about the two people who keep her grounded—her children, Nahla, 9, and Maceo, 3.

In a candid moment, Halle revealed how her daughter Nahla keeps her grounded with her unfiltered honesty. “One morning, I woke up and walked into Nahla’s room,” Halle shared with Closer. “I’d just stepped out of the shower and wasn’t exactly looking my best. But as I entered, she looked at me and said, ‘Mom, what happened? You look like you just lost a beauty pageant!’”

Isn’t that hilarious? There’s something truly special about a child’s honesty, isn’t there? But life hasn’t always been sunshine and rainbows for the Berry household. Halle didn’t hesitate to take action. “My daughter was being so harassed in LA by the paparazzi that she was afraid to go to school,” she explained. “I decided to do something about it. Her New Movie Deepens Her Connection to Motherhood
Thanks to that experience, Halle says working on her new movie, Kidnap, had an even deeper impact on her than she anticipated. In the film, she plays a mother who stops at nothing to rescue her abducted child. The role resonated with her on a personal level, reminding her just how precious her own kids are. “My kids are the most important part of my life,” she reflected. “This movie made me appreciate them even more. I found myself hugging and kissing them more often after filming. It’s a powerful reminder of what truly matters.”
