Since adopting Haley in February 2017, Hoda and Joel have experienced an explosion of love and excitement. Their relationship has deepened in ways they never imagined, with every day bringing new joys. “Who would’ve thought that watching my life partner dance with our daughter in the kitchen could be so sexy?” Hoda joked. “It’s a whole other level of love, something I never experienced before.”
And the thought of expanding their family? Hoda’s definitely considering it. “I don’t want Haley to ever feel alone,” she revealed. “As an older parent, you think about these things more than you would in your twenties. Hoda has big dreams for her daughter, hoping to instill the same values her own mother, Sameha Kotb, taught her. “I want Haley to grow up strong yet gentle, knowing exactly who she is,” she explained. “I want her to be polite and determined, but also recognize when it’s okay to rest. It’s a daily struggle for me to figure out how to teach her all this, but I know she’ll grow up to make me incredibly proud.”
Even though Hoda can’t spend every moment with Haley, she’s committed to making the most of their time together. “I try to teach her all the lessons I’ve learned from my mom,” she added. “It’s about balance, resilience, and love.”
